Michael Hogan, Ph.D.

Our bio-technology team includes Dr. Michael Hogan, Chief Science Officer of Gentegra LLC, a subsidiary company of GENiSYSS. Dr. Hogan has a PhD in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University with post-doctoral work at Stanford University. Co-founder of multiple bio-pharm and bio-technology companies and serving on several Scientific Advisory Boards, he has been working extensively on joint research programs. He has 23 pending and issued patent applications for oligonucleotide therapeutics and nucleic acid based diagnostics. He is the inventor of 11 issued patents in DNA chips and therapeutics. He has 19 awarded patents, 12 pending patents and 93 publications in biophysics, applied genetics & biotechnology. Dr. Hogan has been an Assistant Professor at Princeton University and serves as a tenured professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he developed pioneering surface chemistries that enhanced the rate and specificity of nucleic acid hybridization on solid supports. He also holds a faculty position at the University of Arizona. With his 27 years of experience and depth of knowledge in physical biochemistry, Dr. Hogan is a highly valued member in the GENiSYSS family.

Howard D. Goldstein

Howard Goldstein has more than 30 years experience in creating and managing product commercialization organizations in life science companies. He has been responsible for building and leading marketing, engineering, and sales teams that have created more than 10 key product categories in the research marketplace. Most recently, Mr. Goldstein served as Executive Vice President at IntegenX, a company that has applied microfluidic devices to integrate com-plicated workflows in Forensics, Human Identification and Nucleic Acid Sequencing. His career has included serving as CEO and Chief Commercial Officer for Arcxis Biotechnologies as well as Managing Partner of Practical Marketing & Sales, a marketing and sales consultancy. Prior to Arcxis, he held senior level positions directing marketing, sales and customer service for Amnis Corporation, Molecular Devices, Molecular Dynamics, and Applied Biosystems. Mr. Goldstein was founder, president and CEO of the eBioinformatics unit of Entigen Corporation, senior vice president at Incyte Genomics and Synteni Corporation, which was acquired by Incyte. He began his career at LKB Instruments. Mr. Goldstein received his B.S. in Biology from Bucknell University, his M.B.A. in Organizational Development from Temple University, and his M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Dayton.

David McElroy

David McElroy is a veteran of the airline industry for more than 35 years. He has extensive management experience in both publicly & privately held aviation companies. In addition, Mr. McElroy was involved in the start up of three airlines: He was the founding President & CEO of Focus Air, an international ACMI cargo airline, from 2004 to 2006; Mr. McElroy was instrumental in the startup success of Atlas Air Inc., where he served as SR VP of Operations from 1993 to 1996; He was one of the founding Managing Officers of People Express Airline from 1980 to 1986. Mr. McElroy also served as President and CEO of two heavy maintenance and modification centers: Cross Continent Aircraft Services and Tracor Aviation, from 1986 to 1992. Early in his career, he was Director of Technical services for Itel Air, an aircraft leasing division of Itel Corp., and worked in various capacities in Engineering and Maintenance for Flying Tiger Line. Mr. McElroy has completed graduate courses in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from Northrop Institute of Technology. He achieved the rank of Captain as a Maintenance Officer in the United States Air force. Mr. McElroy is a licensed pilot and a licensed A & P mechanic.

Bruce W. McRoy

Bruce McRoy is a founding partner of the law firm Reicker, Pfau, Pyle & McRoy. His practice focuses on representing public and private enterprises and individuals with respect to business, corporate, securities, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and tax matters. He has served as outside counsel and as special counsel on securities, acquisition and intellectual property transactions for domestic and foreign clients including publicly traded corporations, early stage manufacturing and development companies, academic and R&D organizations, and consolidated groups with international operations. Prior to joining the firm, Bruce was a Partner in the Business Department of the national intellectual property law firm of Spensley, Horn, Jubas & Lubitz in Los Angeles. While with Spensley Horn, Bruce represented a wide range of public and private industrial and technology based companies and professionals with respect to their domestic and international corporate, corporate securities, tax and licensing matters, including public and private offerings of securities and other financings, mergers and acquisitions and development, manufacturing and licensing matters. Bruce graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1975. He was an Editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. He is a member of the California, American and Santa Barbara Bar Associations. Since moving to Santa Barbara in 1994, Bruce has been active in the local community. He was the organizer and Chairman of the Technology Business Section of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association. He is also an officer and Director of the Science and Engineering Council and is active with and past General Counsel to the Santa Barbara Industrial Association. Eric Pierson

Eric Pierson is Founder, Chairman and CEO of TotlSoft, a software products and services provider that specializes in web-based business automation solutions. Eric is also the Executive Chairman of New Gate Technologies, a provider of engineered solutions for quality inspection in the exhaust and emissions market. Eric Pierson has been in product development involving both software and mechanical solutions since 1982 when he was hired as a designer for Semitool, Inc. of Kalispell Montana. In 1987, while studying Computer Science at the University of Nebraska, Eric developed and patented a method used in manufacturing hard-disk drives found in computers. Based on this development he co-founded Pathway Systems, Inc. in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1989 and served as its President and CEO until 2001. In 2003, Eric joined Image Labs International of Bozeman, Montana as their product development director. It was in this role that Eric led in the development of a line of inspection equipment used in the exhaust and emissions market. In March of 2010, Eric and his wife Lisa formed New Gate Technologies which acquired the assets of Image Labs International and began to further develop and market equipment for the emerging emissions control market. While working with the customer base of New Gate Technologies, Eric designed and outlined the functionality of a web-based service and sup-port product and soon after formed TotlSoft to enable the development and growth of that product. Eric brings a high level of creativity and dedication to the process of getting a product or business opportunity defined and launched. Eric has been married to Lisa for 28 years and they have 6 children. Eric and Lisa love the outdoors, gardening, cycling, off-road adventures in their Jeep, motorcycling, and spending time with their great family and friends.

Dr. Joseph J. Sreenan

Dr. Sreenan is currently a partner with the Lima Pathology Associates in Lima, Ohio and is Medical Director at Hardin Memorial Hospital Laboratory and GI Associates Histology Laboratory. He has held the position of Medical Director at the Van Wert County Hospital Laboratory and St. Rita’s Medical Center Laboratory. Dr. Sreenan did postgraduate studies at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He received his M.D. at the Medical College of Ohio and an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at Xavier University. Dr. Sreenan received numerous honors during his undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate work. He is accredited by the American Board of Pathology, the Ohio State Medical Board, and the Diplomat National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Sreenan is a member of 6 medical Societies, a current member of 5 Committees and past member of 10 additional Committees. He has academic appointments as Adjunct Professor at Ohio State University-,Lima-,Ohio, Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Toledo, Adjunct Professor at Ohio Northern University-,Ada, and Adjunct Professor at Bowling Green State University. Dr. Sreenan has presented 24 different medical Courses, co-authored 7 Posters, 6 Abstracts, and 9 Publications. He lives in Lima, Ohio with his wife and two children.

Betsy Zikakis

Betsy brings over 30 years of technology marketing and product strategy expertise to the GENiSYSS Advisory Board. Having worked in rapidly evolving markets such as cloud computing, mobile applications, marketing automation, online advertising and e-commerce, Betsy Zikakis combines her technical education with practical marketing experience to help companies accelerate growth through clear positioning, social and online marketing programs, and market-driven product strategies. As the Senior Vice President of Marketing at SOASTA, Betsy established the company’s first lead generation efforts including integrated social, inbound and outbound campaigns designed to support aggressive revenue targets. At RightScale, she built the company’s first marketing organization and helped create its strong leadership position in the burgeoning cloud computing market. Prior to RightScale, Betsy was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Workscape (SaaS HR Solutions acquired by ADP) and Engage (Internet Advertising acquired by DoubleClick). Under her leadership at Engage, marketing drove awareness from nothing to over 60% and generated leads to support $250 million in sales. At Workscape, she re-branded the company and reset the product strategy to draw new interest in the company and revitalize sales. Earlier in her career, she served as an IT strategy consultant at Arthur D. Little and member of the software engineering staff at Hewlett Packard. She holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Administration and a BS in Computer Science with honors from North Carolina State University.
